Kerr Kriisa, a 6-foot-3 guard from Tartu, Estonia, has committed to the Cincinnati Bearcats for his final collegiate season. This decision follows a series of transfers and a challenging season at Kentucky, where a foot injury limited his play.
Collegiate Journey
Kriisa began his NCAA career at the University of Arizona, playing three seasons with the Wildcats. During his tenure, he led the Pac-12 in assists for two consecutive seasons, becoming the first player to do so since 2001. He also ranked tenth in Arizona’s history with 177 made three-pointers. His performance contributed to Arizona’s impressive 78-20 record over three years, including two Pac-12 tournament titles and three NCAA Tournament appearances.
In 2023, Kriisa transferred to West Virginia University. Despite the team’s struggles, he averaged 11.0 points and 4.7 assists per game, shooting 42% from three-point range. His standout performances included a career-high 25 points against Kansas State.
Following the resignation of West Virginia’s head coach Bob Huggins, Kriisa entered the transfer portal and joined the University of Kentucky for the 2024-25 season. Unfortunately, his time with the Wildcats was short-lived due to a foot injury sustained on December 7 against Gonzaga, limiting him to nine games. Prior to the injury, he averaged 4.4 points, 3.8 assists, and 2.4 rebounds per game.
Commitment to Cincinnati
After entering the transfer portal in March 2025, Kriisa announced his commitment to the Cincinnati Bearcats. His decision adds experience and depth to Cincinnati’s backcourt as they prepare for the upcoming season.
