Former Florida State wide receiver Destyn Hill has transferred to Louisiana State University (LSU), marking a significant addition to the Tigers’ receiving corps. Hill, a New Orleans native and former four-star recruit from Edna Karr High School, was highly sought after during his initial recruitment, with LSU being a finalist before he committed to Florida State.
During his freshman season at Florida State in 2023, Hill recorded six receptions for 87 yards over 10 games, averaging 8.7 yards per catch. Unfortunately, he missed the entire 2024 season due to an ACL injury sustained during spring practice.
Hill’s decision to transfer brings him closer to home and reunites him with former high school teammate Aaron Anderson, who had a breakthrough season at LSU after transferring from Alabama. Hill cited LSU’s robust support system and abundant resources as key factors in his decision, expressing his desire to develop further and move closer to an NFL career. He referred to LSU as “WRU,” highlighting the university’s reputation for producing talented wide receivers.
LSU’s head coach, Brian Kelly, has been active in strengthening the team’s roster through the transfer portal. Hill’s addition is expected to enhance the depth and versatility of LSU’s receiving unit, complementing existing talent and providing quarterback Jayden Daniels with another dynamic target.
