Florida State University (FSU) has made significant strides in bolstering its running back roster for the 2025 season by securing commitments from two highly regarded recruits:

1. Ousmane Kromah: A four-star running back from Lee County High School in Leesburg, Georgia, Kromah flipped his commitment from the Georgia Bulldogs to FSU in December 2024. Standing at 5’11” and weighing 200 pounds, he is ranked as the 74th best player nationally and the 4th best running back by 247Sports Composite. During his junior season, Kromah amassed 1,783 rushing yards, 20 touchdowns, and added 31 receptions for 522 yards and nine touchdowns, showcasing his versatility and offensive prowess.

2. Byron Louis: Another four-star recruit, Louis hails from American Heritage High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He committed to FSU in September 2024, choosing the Seminoles over other prominent programs such as Miami, Wisconsin, and Georgia. Louis is recognized for his consistent performance in the backfield, demonstrating patience, burst through the hole, and the ability to gain yards after contact. In his junior year, he recorded 1,224 rushing yards and 18 touchdowns, further highlighting his capabilities as a dynamic playmaker.

The addition of Kromah and Louis aligns with FSU’s strategic focus on enhancing its offensive capabilities, particularly in the running game. Under the guidance of new offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn, the Seminoles aim to implement a system that emphasizes a strong rushing attack. Malzahn’s offense is expected to leverage the talents of these recruits, aiming for a top-five finish in the ACC for rushing yards per game. This approach is anticipated to revitalize FSU’s offense, providing a balanced and dynamic strategy for the upcoming season.
