Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique expressed frustration following their 1-0 defeat to Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Tuesday. Despite the setback, he remained optimistic about PSG’s chances of advancing to the knockout stage.
PSG, who have gone winless in their last four Champions League matches, are currently 26th in the group, with four points from five games, two places behind the qualification threshold.
“We gave a poor impression right from the start,” Enrique told PSG TV after their failure to equalize Kim Min-jae’s first-half goal. “Bayern Munich were the better team in the first half… we felt we had chances, and the start of the second half was better. But after Ousmane (Dembele) was sent off, we struggled.”
PSG, who currently lead Ligue 1, will host Nantes on Saturday, before traveling to RB Salzburg for their next Champions League match in December. They will also face Manchester City and VfB Stuttgart in January.
“It’ll be tough to recover those points, but we still have three games left, and we have to keep hoping for qualification,” Enrique added.
