Texas A&M Lands 4-Star RB Jonathan Hatton Jr., a Major Win Over Oklahoma for 2026 Class

In a major development for Texas A&M’s football program, the Aggies secured a significant commitment for their 2026 recruiting class. Jonathan Hatton Jr., a four-star running back from Cibolo, Texas, announced on March 23, 2025, that he would be joining the Aggies. At 6-foot-1 and 210 pounds, Hatton brings an impressive blend of size, speed, and agility that will elevate Texas A&M’s backfield for years to come.

Hatton, who is ranked as the 73rd overall prospect nationally and the fifth-best running back by ESPN, had offers from some of the top programs in the country. However, he chose Texas A&M over strong competition, particularly from Oklahoma, marking a significant victory for the Aggies. His decision adds to the momentum that head coach Jimbo Fisher has been building as he looks to continue improving the team’s recruiting pipeline and on-field performance.

What makes Hatton’s commitment even more significant is the fierce competition he faced during his recruitment. Oklahoma had long been a contender for his services, and securing a highly touted in-state prospect like Hatton is a major win for Texas A&M. It reflects the program’s growing appeal to top recruits and their ability to land elite talent, especially when competing against other powerhouse programs.

Hatton’s skill set is one of the primary reasons why he’s regarded as one of the nation’s top running back prospects. His vision, combined with his powerful running style and ability to break tackles, makes him a dynamic threat on the field. Hatton’s speed and versatility also allow him to be a potential dual-threat in both the running game and the passing game, something that will make him a valuable asset in Texas A&M’s offensive schemes moving forward.

This commitment strengthens the foundation for Texas A&M’s 2026 class, positioning them as a force to be reckoned with in the SEC for years to come. With several other highly-ranked recruits also eyeing the Aggies, this early commitment is a positive sign that Texas A&M is trending in the right direction as they look to build a championship-caliber team.

In an era where recruiting is paramount to success, Texas A&M’s ability to secure Hatton demonstrates their growing presence in the world of college football recruiting. The future is bright for the Aggies, and Hatton’s commitment will no doubt have a lasting impact on the team’s offensive identity in the coming seasons.
