Dee Brown, a celebrated figure in Illinois basketball history, has been appointed as the head coach of Roosevelt University’s men’s basketball team in Chicago. Brown, renowned for his dynamic play as a guard for the Fighting Illini, was instrumental in leading the team to the 2005 NCAA Championship game.
A native of Maywood, Illinois, Brown’s basketball journey began at Proviso East High School, where he earned the title of Mr. Basketball in Illinois. His collegiate career at the University of Illinois further solidified his status as a local legend, known for his speed, leadership, and scoring ability.
Expressing his enthusiasm about returning to Chicago, Brown stated he is “blessed” to coach in the city that played a significant role in his development as a player.
